Although Tahoe Donner is located approximately 30 miles away from Lake Tahoe’s North Shore, this fine resort area in the Sierra Nevada Mountains offers plenty of year-round recreational activities to satisfy your inner adventurer.


Wintertime is certainly an exciting time around Tahoe Donner since so many ski resorts are just a short drive away. Donner Ski Ranch, the Tahoe Donner Ski Area, Northstar, and the popular Sugar Bowl Ski Resort are all a few minutes from many Tahoe Donner rentals, while accessing the soft powder of Squaw Valley and the Soda Springs Mountain Resort requires a slight detour, but it is definitely worth the effort for their big mountain action.


While you could clearly spend your entire vacation tackling breathtaking bowls or trying some off-piste skiing, the snow and spectacular scenery offer more than just downhill adventures. Landlocked diversions more your style? Set out for a day at any of the three spectacular, mountain-lined golf courses waiting to test your mettle in Truckee. While the Coyote Moon Golf Course is known for its tranquil surroundings and Northstar-at-Tahoe features a wildly distinct front and back nine, the Tahoe Donner Golf Course is the one to try for its challenging layout and amazing views of the Sierra Mountains.
