Bed and Breakfast or home stay, for the romatic at heart or the activity holiday of your dreams. Six double bedrooms, each with its own modern bathroom, all with a view of the river; sleeps 10-12. In the heart of an area rich in history, arts, culture and sport activities -- ideal for hiking, cycling, painting, photography, golf and wine tasting. Notes:
The chateau is in the lovely bastide market town of Lalinde, 50 metres from the village square, yet it 'stands with its feet in the river' and one feels as if you are away from it all. There is a terrace that runs along the front of the chateau overhanging the river, where guests can enjoy breakfast or lovely summer lunches or even romantic dinners under the stars (upon request) . There is a beautiful small infinity pool with loungers where you can relax and enjoy the lovely summer's weather of the Dordogne.
If you are golfer, there are no fewer than nine excellent golf courses in the immediate area. The black oak forests and rolling hills of the Dordogne valley are ideal for serious as well as casual hikers or cyclists, with a wide range of other market towns and bastides to visit, historic sites, some of the best wine estates in France, horse riding tours and eco-tourism.
