Stone steps, amongst lush tropical foliage lead up to a shady courtyard of palm trees in the heart of Maco Lodge. This unique villa is inspired by the principals of a zen garden and the contrasts of energy between ying and yang. Careful attention has been paid to the play of light and shadow, the simplicity of line and form, creating an ambience of a peaceful island sanctuary with one area flowing in to the next. This Balinese inspired villa has been built entirely in tropical exotic wood, which is complimented by the bright colors used in the main living areas and kitchen. The ethnic, antique furniture originates from the Far East. There are many impressive pieces such as the bookcase in the sunny, living area and the solid dark wood Indian table and benches in the dining room off the "somber" living area. At the back of the serene "somber" living area is a lily pond and the gentle trickle of water has a soothing quality. Extending from each living room and partly shaded, are the pools, dark tile in one and white tile in the other, from both the immense expanse of turquoise Caribbean Sea stretches to infinity. In the evening, the villa takes on a mystical ambience as the sun sinks behind the hills and the skies become ablaze with hues of oranges and pinks. Just off the "somber" living room is the "smoking room", an ideal area for relaxing, reading or playing games. A gas grill is located off the sublime gourmet kitchen and dining area. On the lower level, there is a home cinema with a day bed and surround system. Also on this level, is one of the master suites, with dark slate floors, has it's own office, huge bathroom, and private terrace w/ chaise lounges. A smaller bedroom is located on this level leading on to the garden. In the second half of Maco lodge, the "sunny" living room is located with its impressive antique bookcase and its own kitchenette with fridge and ice maker. Just off the kitchenette is a guest bathroom and shower. Two other master bedrooms lead off each side of the "sunny" living area, each with the same incredible view and with their own pristine bathrooms. On the lower level, there is a dormitory with two bunk beds, sleeping up to 4 children. The dormitory leads on to the playroom equipped with TV, DVD and a play station. On the wooden terrace outside there is a real sand pit and more toys!!! The last bedroom is smaller and would be ideal for the nanny, this room leads off of the dormitory and opens on to the garden. The villa is also equipped with a spa area with heated jacuzzi and massage table to make the stay at Maco Lodge an ultimate experience. Continental breakfast is included at Maco Lodge. Maco Lodge is listed here as a 3 bedroom, although it is a large property and can be rented as a 6 bedroom (in 2008 the 6 bedroom rate is $16,800 per week and $12,600 per week in the summer).
