Meadowview and The Stables cottages are a spacious holiday homes sleeping five and four, respectively, comfortably furnished and equiped. The Stables cottage has all rooms apart from the twin bedroom on the ground floor, making the cottage particularly suitable for older or infirm people. The sittting roomsor both cottages, look out over our own meadowland and the Peak District hills. The cottages are surrounded by our own gardens, each with parking for two cars within the grounds. While on the edge or the ancient town of Chapel en le Frith, the cottages are only a few minutes walk from restaurants, pubs, banks and shops. Situated in the lovely area of the Dark Peak, they are within easy reach by car of many beauty spots, walking areas, forests, lakes and hills. Also within easy reach by car are the stately homes of Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Hardwick hall and Lyme Parkj, all settings for a number of renowned TV films

Notes: With all rooms except the twin bedroom on the ground floor, the Stables Cottage is suitable for elderly people. The sitting/dining rooms and kitchens in both Meadowview and The Stables look out over our meadows with open views of the Peak District Hills. There is a garden for children to play and meadowland for them to explore. Although secluded and situated in their own grounds, the properties are within a few minutes easy walk from shops, banks, restaurants and pubs. Guests may walk in our meadows along pathways cut through the undergrowth, and explore the wildlife, spot the wild flowers and rest under the large, 200 year old trees.

Activities: There are two swimming pools in the area. Pony trekking and bike hire can be obtained nearby. There are two golf courses, and a driving range nearby where golfers can practice and the family can have fun. There are two adventure playgrounds for children up to 14 years of age and course fishing by day permit for adults. There are several stately homes within a short drive, and caves, castles and lakes for sightseeing trips. The National Tramway Museum takes one back to the 1920's while a cable car takes one to the Heights of Abraham where there is a Dinosaur museum and caves to amuse young people. The renowned Alton Towers Adventure Park, 30 minutes drive away, is a must for those who like to indulge in thrills.

Places of Interest: We are close to Lyme Park where the BBC TV series Pride and Prejudice was made, and to the famous Chatsworth House with wonderful gardens and an adventure playground and farm park for the children. Across the hills is Holmfirth where Last of the Summer Wine is made. Moll Flanders and Jayne Eyre were made at Haddon Hall, a fine medieval, castellated house. We are not far from Alton Towers, the American Adventure and Matlock with its cable cars to the caves and dinosaur museum. A 45 minute drive takes you to Manchester to the Steam and Industrial Museum, the Space Museum, Coronation Street and the Roman fort, all within a very compact area. There country walks of various degrees of effort.: We are at the center of good walking country of easy, moderate and hard grades. Lakeland and forest walks among the trees are generally quite flat and make pleasant walking in the summer. Close by is Edale, the start of the Pennine Way.
