Further contact information: I live here and look after each of my properties personally. I will greet you, provide you with an introduction to the villa, to the village and area. I have lived here for 8 years so I have a bit of knowledge about the area that I am happy to share. You do not need a car but you should be aware that there are quite a few stairs to get from the villa to the village - about 300 to the top of the village and another 200 to the waterfront. I enjoy the walk and most people do. If you want to rent a car, there is plenty of parking on the street in front of the villa. Also, there are taxis to bring you up the hill and a village mini bus. Two of the nearby grocery stores deliver . If you are attending the Institute Francais, which is a superb French language institute in Villefranche, the villa is a 10 minutes walk across the hillside to the institute - a superb location for attending class. There is a wonderful tourist office as well in the heart of town.

Some of my favorite things to do in Villefranche: There is so much to see and do here that one is tempted to try and do alot. But part of the magic about being here is just to experience living here and relaxing. In Villefranche there is quite alot to see and enjoy. The citadel is quite a magnificent structure -- an old fort. Inside there is an outdoor movie theater in the summer, and a lovely museum of Volti's sculptures, plus walking around this immense fort and it's walls - it is worth a visit and is right in the heart of town. Also, the waterfront quai and beach -- great beach scene. Summer of 2010 there will be two new beach restaurants where you can rent chaises. The beach is fantastic for swimming. This is a walkers paradise. This is a place you can come on vacation, eat and drink all you want, and go home more fit than when you arrived. You will love walking here -- and you kind of have to walk alot to enjoy it all. But then you get to enjoy all that great French food and wine - without feeling guilty

Favorite things in the area: Nice is just 10 mins. away on the bus. Visiting the old town is great. The flower and vegetable market is daily and wonderful, fabulous restaurants, great shopping in the old town plus the pedestrian area. Eze Village is another beautiful place to visit, also 10 mins. from Villefranche. You can take a bus there as well. Walking through the village and visiting the cactus garden at the top is great - and if you bring a picnic lunch a beautiful place to enjoy the view. Doing the walk around Cap Ferrat is fabulous. It runs all along the edge of Cap Ferrat. On one side you see the beautiful coast and can plunge into the water at any time, on the other side you look at spectacular gardens and villas. Visiting Villa Rothschild and Keryols Villa on Cap Ferrat is another fabulous thing to do. Both beautiful, interesting and unique - and walking distance from Villefranche. Monaco is just 15 mins. away - either on train or bus and always interesting and exciting. And lots more.
