The Island - Anna Maria Island: Anna Maria Island is one of the most beautiful islands on Flroidas west coast and kept its original flair. Endless white beaches and turquoise blue water, dolphins. An insider tip for all Florida vacationers. A bus shuttle takes you for free to all other parts of the island, for example to the next supermarket (Publix) or to one of the other sandy beaches on the island. There a lots of places to go shopping. Besides the already mentioned big supermarket, there are lots of small convenience stores, restaurants and souvenir shops. If you wish to take the bus shuttle to the next island (Longboat Key) you only have to buy a 50 US cent ticket. For destinations a bit farther away we recommend you rent a car, which are in general a lot cheaper than in other parts of the country.

Our apartment: The apartment is located right next to the beach of the gulf of Mexico in a small 2 story condominium complex. To the amenities for a relaxing holidays we count the big heated swimming pool, a tennis court with lighting and two saunas. The building itself offers an elevator and a master key system for the access and apartment doors. Below the building you will find a reserved and shady parking spot for your car. Our apartment is almost 1100 sqft large and offers sleeping accommodations for 4 adults plus a small child. You will find a large living / dining room, 2 bedrooms, 2 walk-in closets and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, ice maker, oven incl glas top and a dish washer. Additional amenities are a washing maschine, a dryer, cable TV, flatscreen TV, an additional TV in the bedroom, DVD player, stereo, telephone (local calls are free), ventilators in the bedrooms and on the balcony. Both balcony offer beach views.

Things to see: There are a lot of locations that are worth taking a look at. All of them can be reached comfortably by car. To take a llok at floridian wildlife we recommend the Mayaka state park, where you can observe the local wildlife including aligators. Another highlight - not just for kids - is a trip to Orlando. There you will find Universal Studios and of course Disney World with its 4 theme parks. Both destinations can be reached with a 2 hour drive. Close to Anna Maria Island are also a lot of shopping- and outlet shopping malls located, where you can buy clothes from all the famous brand names you can think of. Golf: Close to the condo there is a couple of golf courses which can be reached by car in about 15 minutes.
