La Fabrica de Bombas was originally built as a factory manufacturing cannon balls during the Great Siege of Gibraltar in 1779-1783. It enjoys a romantic setting on the banks of the Hozgarganta River, with stunning views across the Alcornocales National Park (the largest in Europe). The dramatic backdrop of craggy rocks crowned by the ruined Moorish Castle gives this stunning self-catering property a truly unique location. The villa is situated only 10 minutes walk to the centre of Jimena de la Fronteras' shops, bars and restaurants. Jimena is one of Andalusias most beautiful white villages. It is a traditional working village, where you can often find spontaneous authentic flamenco in the early hours of the morning. You can experience real Spain, yet drive to the beaches and golf courses of the Costa del Sol in only a 30 minutes. This summer holiday rental sleeps up to 8, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, including a separate flat which is not let separately.

Bedrooms 3 & 4 are situated in the apartment on the 1st floor. Bedroom 3 is a very large room. It has a comfortable pull down bed, but can also be used as a lounge and has a 3-piece suite. A bathroom is situated between these two rooms. All bedrooms have ceiling fans for the summer months and central heating panels for the evenings of the cooler months.

The internal courtyard is ideal for dining as it is next to the main kitchen and between the downstairs accommodation and the separate apartment upstairs. The accommodation is not let separately regardless of the number of people occupying it, to ensure privacy.
