Cottage in Shady Shores Resort has old-fashioned charm - all knotty pine interior. Located between Glen Arbor and Empire on the south shore of Little Glen Lake in the heart of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, the best vacation area in the Midwest! There are so many Fantastic things to do here: Lake Michigan beaches, boating, canoeing, hiking, sand dunes, biking, golf, wineries(14 at last count), art galleries, shopping, fine dining- a wonderful mix of nature and culture. Boaters: leave your boat moored in front of property for your entire stay! Cottage surrounded by 3 acres of grassy, shaded common area. Over 300 ft of lake frontage just 100 ft from the cottage with a large dock for sunbathing. Little Glen Lake is a safe, shallow, warm lake, and perfect for swimming, boating and fishing. Fall color season runs extra long here - early a few miles inland , and late near the lakeshore.

Nearest airport:   Traverse City at 35 Miles

In the heart of Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, between the towns of Glen Arbor (3 miles) and Empire (4 miles). Close to Lake Michigan Beaches, canoeing on the Crystal River or the Platte River. Visit Fishtown in Leland and lunch at the Cove Restaurant. Drive to the tip of the Lelanau Peninsula and tour the historic lighthouse. Go on a wine tasting tour of the Leelanau peninsula - there are more than 14 wineries! Hike at Pyramid Point, Empire Bluffs' or Alligator Hill which all have fantastic views of Lake Michigan. Many more trails in the National park. Visit the art galleries or the Cherry Republic in Glenn Arbor. The first weekend in August is the 'Dune grass' music festival in Empire and the same week is the Traverse City Film Fest, only 35 min away. Best of all, take the Pierce Stocking scenic drive for fabulous views of Lake Michigan and Glen Lake. Fall color has an extended season here. Spring has cherry blossoms. In the winter there is Skiing, both downhill and Cross country
