Already the smell of freshly brewed coffee, relaxing in a wicker chaise and the warmth of the sun beckons you to come and soak in the area known as beautiful Lochaber. So, if being lulled to sleep with the sounds of the ocean and awaken by the singing of the island birds sounds wonderful to you, this is the place to be! How to get here? Your airline of choice to Nassau then fly into Deadman's Cay airport.*Important* Deadmans Cay is the airport where we welcome our guests. Airlines servicing here are Bahamasair, Southernair, and Pineappleair & also with Island Wings or other private charters. (Links to Bahamasair and Southernair are on our site listed below.) As a complimentary courtesy: Nancy, our assistant will greet our guests upon landing at Deadman's Cay airport and assist them to Whistling Duck Cottage. Tips are not expected but would be warmly appreciated. Return trip to the airport for departure, price is negotiated with Nancy or procured with island taxi service.

Items provided: Bed linens, Kitchen appliances, Kitchenware, Blender, Microwave, Coffee Pot, DVD player with selection of movies, CD alarm clock, Hair dryer, Outside shower, Porch with swing, Chaise lounge, Deck & deck chairs, Tropical paddle fans, Books, puzzles and board games. Telephone-local calling or to receive long distant calls. Calling cards can be purchased in town for out of town calls. Cell phones can be brought along but your cell company needs to be notified about upcoming out of country service well in advance of your departure. Check with your company for service rules. Items to bring: Personal toiletries, Books, Snorkeling equipment, Swimsuits. Activities to enjoy: Great snorkeling with your supplies, Swimming, Beach combing, Island travel and sightseeing, Cave exploring, Tasting wonderful island food, Sitting back and taking a well-deserved break is optional! For a fee: New ocean tandem (2 person) kayak rental available.

Life jackets are provided & required for kayak use: Rate: Damaged/lost deposit of $100. The deposit is refunded to you after return of kayak/paddles in same condition as received upon departure by mail. Daily housekeeping, bone fishing with guides can be provided for an extra charge *We welcome advanced notice if possible on above list* Nancy, our assistant, is available to assist you if needed. Whistling Duck is a 20-minute drive from Deadman's Cay airport and in a neighborhood of other fine homes. Flowers and palm trees line the roadside to the cottage. The nearest town is Clarence Town which is only one mile from the cottage and it hosts a health clinic. A larger clinic is located in Deadman's Cay. There are numerous island restaurants, stores, bar and a bakery close by. Local people are family friendly and eager to provide answers to all questions. Items of interest are 2 blue holes, with one located right on Lochaber Beach.

It is a beautiful location, and you have done a great job making the cottage warm, comfortable, and welcoming. Nancy's help in picking us up, getting the groceries we needed, and helping us with the rental car was definitely a bonus, and made everything very easy for us. You truly have a wonderful place, and if we come to Long Island again before our own construction is complete, Whistling Duck will be the first place we come for accommodations. Thanks again!
