Just a short drive away are a wide variety of restaurants/bars ranging from Thai cuisine to handmade pasta and wood-fired pizza. Also available to the north are many tour companies, yoga classes, day spas and shops to explore and enjoy . An hour and a half drive through the park will bring you to the isolated fishing settlement of Punta Allen where restaurants and snorkeling, bird watching, and fishing tours are available. For a day off the beach, adventures await at the Mayan ruins of Tulum and Coba, the colonial city of Valladolid and many cenotes and nature parks-- all within driving distance. If shopping is your thing or you want a little time in the crowds, Playa del Carmen and the ferry to Cozumell are easily accessable.
