Shanty Creek Resort Skiing: Shanty Creek was rated as a Gold Medal Ski Resort in the Midwest by Ski Magazine. With 46 ski runs, a 450 foot vertical drop, new terrain parks or try some cross-country skiing on the 21K of Nordic trails. This is an absolute wonderful winter wonderland; It has 5 number 1 rankings in 'Skiing in the Midwest' including weather and snow, Dining, Value, Lodging and Apres-Ski ( things to do after skiing is done). Tubing park and 4 indoor/outdoor pools are available to guests!
Outside the resort: If you find time to go exploring, you are only 30-40 minutes from Charlevoix, Petoskey and Traverse City. Shop, go to the casinos, fish, boat on beautiful Torch Lake, sail in the Bay, go to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Bellaire has wonderful restaurants, quaint shopping and you'll find a grocery store and some speciality food shops to stock up your condo and cook a great meal.
