Vacation: Menlo Park was the destination for well-to-do San Francisco families who wished to establish summer residences in the country. Among the first to buy large tracts of land and build their mansions were the Athertons, Hopkinses, Floods, Millses, Donohoes and Feltons. Felton Gables was the summer estate of the Felton family, and now this small estate is a wonderful neighborhood. The weather in this mid-peninsula area is wonderful and encourages outside living. Imagine having your coffee outside in April while you read the paper, or having cocktails on the deck in the late afternoon. There are nearly always some kind of flower in bloom, in this wonderfully landscaped yard. Centrally located, this home is within an easy train of San Francisco, a drive to the beach, or Stanford University.

Medical Treatments: This home is centrally located to Stanford Hospital and Medical Center, Sequoia Hospital, the peninsula Kaiser Permanente facilities, and both medical and mental health Veterans Administration (VA) hospitals. We will try to accommodate special situations resulting from medical needs. Both the shower and the bathtub have grab bars. The shower has a a seat and 3 inch lip for entry. The doors are wide enough for a wheelchair, and there is only one 2 inch step into the front door of the house and none out the back to the patio. All of the floors in the house are hard surface with a few area rugs. Nearby medical supply houses can deliver any necessary equipment.
