A combined lift ticket can be purchased for both areas, providing skiers and riders with a total of 5,300 acres of trails that descend a total of 4,350 vertical feet. It is these statistics that have led Big Sky to boast that it has 'the biggest skiing in America.' Both Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin are legendary for their short lift lines. Waits at the lift lines are rarely, if ever, longer than 1-4 minutes.

Summertime activities are plentiful. The area around Big Sky has some of the most beautiful wildlife in the lower 48 states. Moose, elk, bighorn sheep, and bison all call the area home. Whitewater rafting on the Gallatin River is a favorite summer activity, and several stables that offer horseback riding are nearby.
