  • In any space, enough cannot be said about the importance of clean quality bathroom areas. And this special penthouse certainly bodes well in this area. A frosted glass slider separates the master bath from the main master bedroom area. The attention to beautiful detail & special lighting in the master Jacuzzi overlooking the Caribbean is difficult to understate. The 2nd bath upstairs services the other two bedrooms upstairs. Its marble walls, classy lighting and sturdy tempered glass shower enclosure are sure to be appreciated. The private bathroom off of the 4th bedroom on the main level is clean & functions well for extra guests. And the attention to classy, sharp detail throughout this splendid penthouse is signified once again by the fixtures and finishes in the main level powder room.

  • Each bedroom is equipped with flat screen satellite TVs. There are dozens of English channels, kids channels, even NFL network. The feel one gets from each of the 2nd floor bedrooms (3 on upper level) is one of not just beautiful views outside, but quality inside. The master bedroom is on the corner offering sweeping views of the amazing Caribbean colors to the right. To the left is the beautiful bay, often seen with the sunshine doing its glistening dance over the gentle waters. The king bed in here is especially nice, assuring you of good rest each and every night. The 2nd bedroom faces straight out to the bay. There are two nice double beds and plenty of closet space. The 3rd bedroom also has a double bed and a wonderful Caribbean view. The 4th bedroom is located on the first floor and has a twin bed, private bath, and wonderful Caribbean view. Under the twin is a small play area and drawer space. The closet is very good size, especially for a small room.

Notes: Hi. My name is Tim Miller. My brother Rodney and I got started in the vacation rental business back in 2003. We started in Cocoa Beach Florida when real estate was booming, near 100% financing was easy, & the internet was pretty new. It wasn’t that long ago, but how things have changed since then. In 2003, the home away network didn’t exist and the most popular online vacation rental network had 8 listings in Cocoa Beach. And we had 2 of the 8. Real estate values, especially beach front rentals, were sky-rocketing. We re-financed again & again in an effort to upgrade the properties to levels no one had seen before in that area. On a tip from a friend to check out Cancun for real estate, we came down & boy we were excited. Of all the properties we looked at, the one we really had our heart set on was such a dump. There was virtually nothing in the entire condo that wasn’t screaming to be replaced. Please see “Story Continued” below, thanks.

Story Continued:: I mean things in the condo I speak of were to the point of falling down from dry rot or falling off from rust & calcification. BUT, the place was really big with million dollar views everywhere. We were so excited I don’t think we realized how bad the condo really was. We were used to the near 100% financing in the states. Here in Cancun, we were ready to come up with the 20% down. Financing here was brand new. It was so new in fact, that it had never been done on non new construction investment property for outsiders. Which is probably why we never did get an approval of the loan. Have you ever bought something major in your head, only to find out you couldn’t have it? That’s where we stood at the 11th hour with the seller (Harry) due in from Germany to the real estate office in Cancun in 1 hour, fully expecting to sign a contract that didn’t exist. Story Continued:: My brother & I were on the phone in the states to the Cancun realtor mulling over what to say to this man. Then in comes Mom over-hearing my conversation with the realtor, she signals me to cover the phone. I excuse myself & listen. You have to know Mom. Never met a more passionate, fun, idea filled positive thinking person to this day. She says, “offer him a sizable down payment and see if he will finance you just for a year, until you can re-finance the condos in Cocoa Beach again”. We offer this (high interest rate for him/and he can get the property back if we don’t perform) and he takes it. We get lucky one more time before the big crash and are able to pull out money to close. But Harry was not returning our repeated messages when we were trying to set up the closing. This went on for weeks. We knew he must be avoiding us in an attempt to keep the money and the condo. But then, a rather ferocious little friend came along named Wilma.

Story Continued:: Wilma annihilated the condo. Immediately after that, a funny thing happened…riiiing, “Hello Rodney this is Harry”. The rest as they say, is history. Then, the real estate values that had gone up the fastest, fell the hardest. The market tanked, and we were ravaged financially speaking. We put a ton of sacrifice & sweat equity into remaking the Cancun condo what it is today. During this time we lost Mom to a wicked cancer. She was working strong right here in Cancun just two months before she passed. She brought in a small army of women to help her clean up from all the construction work. But through it all, one thing that has remained a rock, a constant was the refusal to not offer our very best with these vacation rentals. I now co-own just one condo, it’s here in Cancun. I rent out a few others, only here in Cancun. When approached about renting out a prospective property, I usually respectfully decline. Because…
