All of this is just a short stroll down the street behind the house.

One mile to the west is the Albuquerque Aquarium and Biopark. The fabulous Rio Grande Zoological Park and gardens is connected to the Biopark via a short and fun shuttle train ride. The emerging downtown urban center is close-by with the convention center, the historic Kimo Theater, and the hub of Central Ave with a fabulous cinema complex, restaurants and clubs. A short drive away is the Rio Grande nature center with hiking/biking trails along the river overlooking the spectacular Sandia Mountains. The Rio Grande River is a seasonal migration path for Canada geese, ducks, cranes and herons, so in fall, winter and spring the bird watching is world class. The near-by Sandia Mountains feature awe inspiring hiking and biking trails, winter sports, and an excellent restaurant at the top reachable by the world’s longest aerial tramway.
