SMA Activities: San Miguel de Allende was founded in 1542. The town was declared a national monument in 1926. This has preserved the historic nature of the town. Walk down cobblestone streets. Visit the Jardin, in the center of town. It's a great place to meet people, paint, sketch, watch performers, hire a mariachi band. During festivals it fills with dancers, parades and elaborate fireworks. A friendly hardworking populace welcomes visitors. There are a number of first rate art and language schools in SMA. SMA is full of excellent restaurants including: Italian, Chinese, Lebanese, Thai, French and well as Mexican. Don't miss the House and Garden Tours on Sundays!
