* Cabella's sporting goods store is just 12 miles away. *Amish Country in Lancaster County is 40 miles or less. *A winding, single lane dirt road leads you over a small bridge to a cottage perched on the mountainside. * Cottage on 35 forested acres adjacent to thousands of acres of undeveloped woods and gamelands. Private path leads directly to the Appalachian Trail. * Cottage is 163 miles from Washington, DC; 130 miles from New York City; 92 miles from Philadelphia; 82 miles from Gettysburg; 30 miles from Knoebel's Theme Park; and 35 miles from Hershey Park. *Maps and brochures for activities are provided as well as information from area restaurants. *Two and a half miles from the intersection of rts. 183 and 78 in Bethel Township, a mile from the border of Berks and Schuylkill Counties in Pennsylvania. *Non-smokers only. Smoking is not permitted on or around the property. Outdoor cooking and grilling are prohibited.

Guest Comments:: We were looking for a quiet get away from New York City that wouldn't require a day of travel to get there and a day of travel on the return. We didn't imagine that after only a two-hour drive (we were blessed with almost no traffic), we'd find the beautiful place we discovered when we arrived. Everywhere we went we encountered friendly faces and folks who were delighted to offer assistance when we needed it. The best part of each day was returning to the peace of the cabin for a quiet meal, curling up with a book, or just watching the sun set through the slim tall trees from the front porch. Steve and I decided it was the perfect cabin (so comfortable, great kitchen, the wonderful loft!) We really had a hard time leaving the cabin to DO anything, didn’t even go out to dinner in the end. Guest Comments Con'td:: ***We have told all our friends here in Philly about your lovely cabin, and there is general interest in returning for a late winter getaway. Thanks again for the hospitality. We arrived late Friday night and lit the fireplace. There was about 6 inches of snow on the ground outside. My fiancé and I actually slept up in the loft just to get the best views of the morning light reflecting off the trees and snow. Saturday, we cooked a nice breakfast and waited for the third couple to arrive. Once they did, we hiked up the road to the Appalachian Trail, got a little lost, got found, saw the spring, got cold, came home, and started the epic night of board games.
