Bettystown: A charming property located on the Golflinks Road less than five minutes from the center of Bettystown village, 5 miles from Drogheda and just 30 mins from Dublin airport. You can access the beach, which stretches to the Boyne Estuary, via the dunes for lovely walks or walk to the first tee from the door. A peaceful and tranquil area to get away from it all and perfect your swing! Day trips to Dublin and Belfast are highly recommended. Train Station nearby. Bettystown offers an expansive beach - great for evening walks. Behaved pets are welcome.
Extra Details .....: Within 30 minutes of the house you can access the Battle of the Boyne sites, Newgrange medieval site and the Tain Way. Drogheda town is only less than 15 minutes from Bettystown. Drogheda offers a public indoor swimming pool, cinemas, many restaurants and bars/pubs, traditional music, night clubs and casinos as well as great shopping. Also in Drogheda visit the Highlanes Gallery, Callans Art Gallery and interesting historical sites. Next to Bettystown village is Laytown Village the home of Sonairte, the National Ecological Centre.
Activities in Bettystown and Nearby: Golf - 3 minutes from the cottage is Bettystown/Morington Golf Club. Less than 15 minutes drive is Bellewstown Golf Club and Baltray Golf Club, venue for the 2009 Irish Golf Open, is only 30 minutes drive from Bettystown. Swimming - Aura, public swimming pool in Drogheda. Family Fun - Funtasia Bettystown, indoor amusement centre. Also Funtasia Drogheda with waterpark nearby. Horse back riding - in Bettystown/Morington Walking - wonderful beach walks on Bettystown and Laytown beaches. Hiking - An Tain Trail 30 minutes drive. Farmers Markets - every second weekend in Sonairte.
Golf: Laytown & Bettystown Golf Club (www.landb.ie) is just a couple of minutes walk from the cottage. Bellewstown Golf Course (www.bellewstowngolf.com) is less than fifteen minutes drive. And there are numerous other golf clubs in the Meath, Louth and North Dublin areas.
