local activities.: The home is located in the heart of the Fairplay/Shenandoah Valley wine growing area, along the banks of the Consumnes River. At an elevation of about 2,000 feet, the area offers cooler temperatures to beat the summer heat. About 20 miles from Placerville, and 25 miles from Sutter Creek, there are many antique shops and gold mining era resturants to visit. The home is fully equipped with river toys, and the location affords the opportunity for relaxing days.
winery tours: With approximately 40 wineries within 10 miles of the home, there is plenty to do for those who enjoy the less crowded wineries of the foothills. Wine tasting remains free, and there are a great number of locat wineries with excellent and unique places to visit.
