Interlochen Center for the Arts: The Interlochen Center for the Arts welcomes 2,500 campers to the Interlochen Arts Camp each summer from two to six weeks. The ranking World Youth Symphony has played for U.S. Presidents and at the Olympics. They play for up to 4,000 people each Sunday evening beginning in late June. But there are hundreds of performances by junior, intermediate and senior campers. The Summer Festival features a wide-range of professional performers all summer long. The Interlochen Arts Academy hosts up to 500 high school students from all over the world as well. This nine month program combines specialization in the performing and visual arts with a solid academic curriculum. Your hosts at Hideawy II often attend three performances a week throughout the year. We feel you will enjoy dance, theater, orchestra, band, creative writing, fine arts, cinematography and the lively spirit of the students.

Wine Tasting: The Government of Michigan markets its nearly 40 wineries throughout the state. Most are in the Grand Traverse region, especially Grand Traverse County's peninsula and Leelanau County, both just a short drive to the north. These wineries feature wine tasting and our guests have reported visiting up to 20 wineries over a weekend. The vineyard owners are friendly and the wine industry of Michigan is growing rapidly.

Skiing and Golf: Hideaway II is in the middle of some of the finest skiing east of the Mississippi. Crystal Mountain, Schuss Mountain, Boyne Mountain, Boyne Highlands, Nubs Knob, The Homestead and smaller resorts are all accessible from Interlochen. Skiers from Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois join Michiganers on these slopes each winter. Each of these ski resorts feature golf along with a host of other golf courses. The Interlochen 18 hole golf course is five minutes away, but all are relatively close.
