The Cottage and Guest Nest have been completely refurbished to provide an eclectic mix of antiques, rustic furniture, and contemporary design in two comfortable bedrooms plus a sun room downstairs and a separate petite suite upstairs. Hancock Guest Cottage is centrally located in the Hyde Park Hancock area just minutes from Downtown, the University of Texas, the Medical Center, and the the new Mueller shopping development.

About the Hancock Guest Nest: Located in central Austin, it’s the ideal base for exploring town. You can walk to the adjacent shopping center or down the block to regular bus service with easy access to places of interest. There is so much to do in Austin, you will love it. After a day at the lake or exploring town, come home to the tranquility of a BBQ in the garden, or try one of the many fine local restaurants. Very cool, convenient, central neighborhood with lots of character and conveniences--Hyde Park Bar and Grill, Mother’s Cafe, New World Deli, Flight Path Cafe, Asti, Dolce Vita all within a few blocks. The Nest has a flat screen TV equipped with digital cable and DVD player and features full Wi-Fi wireless.

Guest Book: I stayed at the Hancock Guest Nest for 2 nights when I was in Austin. This was a fantastic alternative to staying at a hotel, as you have a full kitchen, laundry, private outdoor seating, free Wifi, and conveniences like an iPod dock, platform bed, and overhead rain shower. The washer/dryer and laundry room was totally worth it, as I was able to catch up on laundry before the next leg of my trip. The Nest looks exactly like it does on the website, and the location is great as well. It is literally adjacent to a shopping center (the back parking lot of Sears is like 20 feet away) but surprisingly this isn't a negative because it's still very quiet. Convenient to restaurants, grocery stores, and a golf course where you can go for a run around the perimeter. Highly recommended. When I visit Austin again, I'll be back!
