Gore Mt Ski Area: GORE MT is 4/10th mile from Chalet. Gore is a great family ski mountain, with full ski and snowboard school, racing team for the kids. 2300ft vertical with ~100 trails and slopes; 8 passenger gondola, 3 quad chairs and 2 triple chairs and 2 double chairs. Lots of expert terrain and gladed tree skiing. Ski locker at the lodge available.
North Creek, NY: The historic village of North Creek is only 1 mile away, with restaurants, grocery, hardware and shopping. There is also a snow tubing park and additional beginner ski area at the nearby Gore Mt ski bowl.
Lake Placid, NY: LAKE PLACID, home of the 1980 and 1932 Winter Olympics, is a short hour drive away from North Creek. Voted the #1 ski town in the East, Lake Placid has a huge selection of winter sports activities, from Bobsledding to Ice Hockey to Nordic Ski jumping. Whiteface Mt, the site of the Olympic Alpine ski events, is a world class ski mountain with 3125 vertical feet.
