Cloud Home lodge also does not allow pets of any kind. Please do not ask for exceptions!

both for our own family and our guests.
Pet hair or smoke odor left in the home will be subject to a minimum $500
fee for steam cleaning all carptes, furniture, drapes, and dry cleaning all comforters
and bedclothes.

- All bathrooms have whirlpool tubs. Entire home is modern, spotlessly clean and fresh. This is a spacious comfortable full sized home. There are a number of very small Cloudcroft cabins built for renting to tourists on a budget. Cloud Home Lodge is a full sized home, luxurious, comfortable, built for living well and entertaining, all at an affordable midrange price. 4 zones of radiant floor heating keeps it cozy and perfect all winter long. Summertime temperatures have highs in the 70's. No need for airconditioning when all outside is fresh clean cool air. Cloudcorft thanks its cool summer temperatures to its altitude of 8500 to 9000 ft. Cloud Home lodge is at the very top, almost 9000 ft. By comparison Ruidoso's summer temperatures can be in the 90's. If you seek to escape the summer heat, come be our guest. Playstation 2 for the kids of all ages, as well as movies, videos, books, games, cards and toys. Bring your own playstation games, DVD's or BLURAY disks to enjoy.

- All bedrooms are spacious with closet space. 3 of 4 bedrooms have satellite tv. Two bedrooms border deck. All 4 have scenic views of forest and mountains. Home is literally on MOUNTAINTOP at corner of Coudcroft Village. Lincon national forest borders home on 3 of 4 quarters. Elk, turkey, deer, racoons, birds, and yes the occasional bear can be seen, especially early in the morning walking by in the Lincolnl forest. Home has large deck with panoramic gan Mountain range to the west over White Sands National Monument (desert of 100's of miles of brilliant bwhite gypsom sand.) To the north you can see White Mointain/Ski Apache by Ruidosi, and watch the colorful sunset each day from the deck or living room. Outside is Large covered patio, as well as a meandering concrete path with campfire space in the middle. Parking for two vehicles in the garage, and for up to two more outside, without anyone being blocked in. Washer/Drier in spacious clean Laundry.

Fine dining, moderate to expensive. Ski Palace & Cloud Mountain Inn: Hwy 82 downtown, home cooking, inexpensive to moderate El Camino: Alamogordo White Sands Blvd Downtown. Inexpensive Mexican home cooking. Closest “fast” food: Sonic: Alamogordo on white sands blvd a few blocks from hwy 82 intersection. Sports in Cloudcroft • Ski rentals: several in the area. Closest are in downtown Cloudcroft. • Cloudcroft Snow Ski area: east on Hwy 82 5 minutes. • Golf: Golf course is open to public. There is a green fee of course. Turn at grocery toward 'The Lodge'. • Tennis, playground: Village of Cloudcroft courts and playground free to public on Hwy 82 in town. • Hiking: Our backyard is National Forest, hike where you please. We recommend a map or gps. • Cross country ski, snow shoe or snow sled at or around Cloud Home Lodge (snow permitting)
Stuff to do in Cloudcroft: • Hike historic Cloudcroft Train trestle trail: thru town on 82, 1st left past hwy 130. • Enjoy a campfire in fire pit behind Cloud Home Lodge (Banned when fire danger high or extreme!) • Mountain Bike Cloudcroft’s scenic streets • Art & Craft fairs and other events are frequent. Check with http://www.cloudcroft.net/calendar_of_events/ • Antiquing, art, jewelry, gifts and clothing shops downtown Cloudcroft on Burro Street • Check out the bakery at the grocery store. Go early, they sell out every day. • Massage therapy available at Cloudcrofts 'The Lodge' near golf course. • Art Lessons available at Deja-vu art store, in shopping strip by Grocery In Ruidoso... • Tourist shopping, antiques, art and restaurants in downtown Ruidoso. • Apache Ski area (larger and more groomed than Cloudcroft’s), just past Ruidoso, about an hour. Sunspot NM... • Sunspot, national sun/solor observatory and museum, 20 minutes south of Cloudcroft.
Other fun things in the area: Lincoln National Forest • Other National Forest Trails: Check Forest Service downtown near grocery, just off Hwy 82. Friendly guys with maps. Bluff Springs is a family favorite. Ask forest service for directions. • Horse riding, there are several around, but they come and go and all have their own odd hours. Google em. • Fishing: There are some private stream fishing spots. Google em. Alamogordo • White Sands National Monument: Down hwy 82, go straight at hwy intersection & follow signs. Great fun for kids. You may borrow our round plastic sleds for the kids to slide down the dunes. • Space Museum: Alamogordo, near mountainside. Have actual rockets on display, and lots of other stuff. • Imax theater: By Space Museum. Shows vary. • White Sands Mall, Kmart, Lowes home center, Home depot, Alamogordo near Hwy 82 intersection. • Putt-putt Golf and go carts turn at Home Depot, go 1 block. • Alamogordo Zoo, park and miniature train. On White sands blvd (business hwy) thru town.
