Once Here: This well-appointed cabin lies deep in the Nantahala National Forest surrounded by all nature has to offer: cool, clear mountain streams, magnificent towering hardwoods and incredibly inviting hiking trails. You will immediately start to decompress as you move from the open road of asphalt to the forest-lined gravel road that leads to this secluded mountain retreat. As you travel the eight-mile Upper Tallulah Scenic Drive, time starts to dissipate along with your work-week life. Whether a weekend getaway for two, a mini-vacation for the family or full-on escape with your friends, this place takes you away from it all. Look for small excursion suggestions in a binder the owners have placed in the cabin. Detailed instructions are provided to give you a little nudge in the right direction for creating some memorable experiences

The Surrounding Area: The cabin sits on the famed Beech Creek/Chimney Rock Loop trail. There are numerous hikes right from your front door. The Tallulah River which runs close to the cabin is stocked with rainbow and brown trout from March to Labor Day. You can literally fish from the road if you want. Take your time driving in though. The scenic drive was built on an old narrow gauge railroad bed and winds up the Tallulah River crossing seven bridges, passing waterfalls and fishing pools and leading to this last slice of private property before the Southern Nantahala Wilderness Area. The owners make their home here as well and you are just a stone throw away if you have any problems or if you just need a cup of sugar.

More to do: Try out your vehicle's 4 wheel drive capabilities on local and unbelievably beautiful 4x4 trails. Fly Fish The Soque and Chatooga Rivers and be able to tell fish stories that really happened! Horseback Riding for the whole family nearby. Check out some of the local Wineries and their tasting rooms. Shopping in small mountain towns with tremendous character and some of the most adorable shops make for a fun day out for the girls, don't forget to make a spa appointment. You pick the direction and we can share the spots you don't want to miss.(Clayton, Hiwassee, Helen, Clarkesville, Cleveland, Dillard, Franklin, etc......) Head back to the cabin and as night falls, you'll be surrounded by complete solitude and nature's magical sounds. Above your head, the stars will illuminate from the black sky. You'll be in pure heaven. Build a fire. Make s'mores. Slip into the hot tub. Sleep soundly.
