Take public transit (bus stop is 4 blocks away) or hop in the car for a short 5 to 15 minute drive to Museums, Opera, Live Theatre, Movie Houses, the legendary Portland Zoo, Historic Oaks Park, Pittock Mansion, Jet boating on the Willamette River, OMSI, Portland's famous Saturday Market, downtown Beaverton's popular Farmer's Market(Saturdays) or Hillsdales Farmer's Market on Thursdays. br br Portland's vibrant downtown has world class restaurants! br br Grocery Stores within 1/4 Mi walking distance: Safeway, Four Seasons (an organic market) and a Walgreens pharmacy too. br br Several restaurants and a couple of pubs with handcrafted ales are within a 1/8 to 1/2 mile.
Day Trips: East - you're off to the scenic Columbia River Gorge, stop for lunch in Hood River and then travel the 'Fruit Loop' to Historic Timberline Lodge at Mt. Hood. Plan on a Full Day - leave early by 9am and you'll be home by 6pm br br West - Pass through Oregon wine country to spend the day at Oregon's stunning Ocean Beaches - clamming, crabbing, deep sea fishing, terrific outlet mall shopping, or try your luck at the Spirit Mountain Casino.... spend the night and walk along the beaches in the early morning looking for glass floats. Oregon beaches are 71 miles away. br br North - Cross into Washington State and tour Mt. St Helens. Another full day trip.
