A private ocean beach: is a short walk or drive away - about 1/3 mile. There is a parking area and a boardwalk over the dunes to access the beach and the waters of Cape Cod Bay. The beach is over 1 mile long, and not open to the public. Scorton Creek, a tidal estuary, runs behind the house, and is accessible by a pathway to launch your kayak or canoe, or to go swimming. The creek is a fine place to fish for searun trout, striped bass, fluke and flounder. The very private 55 foot deck is perfect for relaxation, to watch the birds and wildlife, stargaze, dance a waltz, dine al fresco, practice yoga ..... what else ? ... A deck can be a perfect spot to sit and contemplate ... or not.

Charming Historic Sandwich Village: 4 miles or so down the road, provides a large grocery store and pharmacy, as well as a number of cafes, restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, gift and antiques shops and 'The Brown Jug' - a wonderful Gourmet Food Shop noted 'The Best' of Cape Cod by Boston Magazine. Dine at the Dan'l Webster Inn, their Lobster Bisque is a treat. Tour the Sandwich Glass Museum, and Heritage Gardens, home of a number of worthwhile musea and a lovely place for a stroll among them. Plus a fabulous 1902 Merry-Go-Round - as many rides as you wish included in the price of admission to the grounds. Delightful. And a course of course, Golf, that is, mini or max. Play tennis at the public courts, or rent a bike to ride along the Cape Cod Canal, watch the sailboats go by. Buy some pate or cheese and wine at the Brown Jug and have yourselves a picnic. Glassmaking is a major part of Sandwich history, there are many artists studios in the area, where you may find a unique memory of your Cape visit.

Take a drive up Route 6A: to the Dennis Playhouse and Cinema, to Chatham, Eastham, Truro, Wellfleet and on to Provincetown. Go on a Whalewatch from Plymouth, Barnstable or Provincetown. Stroll Chatham's main street. Clam shacks to fine dining - all a little drive away. Catch a movie at the Cape Cod Mall in Hyannis or at Mashpee Common, or even just 'around the corner' in Sandwich, visit Hyannisport. See a live performance at the Melody Tent, listen to Jazz, take in a symphony concert - craft shows, antique shows, a plethora of estate, auctions and yard sales - so many choices. Ride the ferry to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket from Hyannis or Wood's Hole to spend a day wandering. Cape Cod has some of the very best Homemade Ice Cream in the Whole World, why not poll them? - or do a 'chowdah' survey. Or both. If you'd like to take a gamble, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun are a couple of hours drive away.
