Experience the nearby beauty: and walking trails of Black Rock Mountain State Park -- less than 3 miles from where you'll live. For a little more adventure check out Tallulah Gorge, the deepest state park in Georgia, and only 16 miles from here. HUGH nature can be found just 50 miles near: the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The park has an entrance in Cherokee, NC -- which just so happens to be home to the Cherokee Casino.
Motorcycle enthusiasts: how about riding the : Tail of the Dragon. Located at Deal's Gap, NC, the Dragon is a scenic day ride. So is the Cherohala Skyway. For those who prefer a different kind of locomotion, the Great Smoky Mountain Railway is less than 50 miles from here. And for the shoppers: basic necessities are easily found in Clayton, just 3 miles away. It has a Wal-Mart, Home Depot, CVS Pharmacy, plus a quaint downtown. We're surrounded by outlet malls: Tanger Outlet Mall in Commerce (about 50 miles), the North Georgia Premium Outlet Mall in Dawsonville, and several outlet malls and amusements rides & entertainment (& a Ripley's Aquarium) in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, TN., on the other side of the National Park (and don't forget Dollywood!)
To entertain your envious friends: spend a day at nearby Alpine Helen (a Bavarian styled town) and shop, dine and float-tube down the Chattahoochee River. Stop by the Cabbage Patch Hospital in Cleveland; go gold panning in Dahlonega, or gem mining in Franklin, NC (less than 25 miles). In the winter head for Sky Valley, GA, for a little skiing and tubing.
