You will enjoy this quiet, peaceful old shot gun cabin we all call 'The Bunk House' Built in the early 1900's out of railroad ties milled in Flagstaff, it is now a refreshing escape from today's fast pace. While making it comfortable for our guests we have also preserved the rugged atmosphere & decor. A stay in this rustic old cabin is a great way to enhance your Arizona experience. We have been here since 1984 but didn't convert the Bunk House into a vacation cabin until the summer of 2008. We just put our family heirlooms in there for decor. & had fun fixing it up. It takes you back in time. We are so far out in the country that we have to haul our water from Flagstaff. The clean air & quiet atmosphere makes it worth it! ( yes we do have running, hot water for your convenience )
In the summer there is a herd of elk that come in to graze, it's an awesome sight Just to the east is a lava tube. We are about an hour from the Grand Canyon & about 90 min. from the Petrified Forest. We are located in a central spot for a lot of northern Arizona sights. In Flagstaff is the Lowell Observatory & Northern Arizona Museum. Sedona & Oak Creek Canyon is about a 45 min. drive. We are both natives of Arizona & love to share our state with you. Please feel free to ask any questions about any sites in the area.
