Old Silver Beach great for children, 3 miles away; Surf Drive, Woodneck Beach, Bristol Beach & Falmouth Heights Beach 4 miles away. Close to shopping, fine restaurants, Woods Hole & Ferry to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, ideally located for day trips to the rest of Cape Cod including Hyannis, Provincetown, and whale watching. Boston is an hour's drive to see the Museum of Science, New England Aquarium, Boston Fine Arts Museum, Symphony Hall, or an hour to Providence, RI and the Zoo at Roger Williams Park. New Bedford and its Whaling Museum is 40 minutes away. The living history of Plymouth Plantation, the Mayflower II and Plymouth Rock is only a 40 minute drive. Or just relax and swim at your private beach or nearby salt water beaches.
Local Highlights: The 4th of July fireworks are the best on Cape Cod. The annual Falmouth Road Race is world famous. The weekly band concerts at Marina Park are very popular. A 5 minute drive to the Island Queen, a fast ferry to Martha's Vineyard, a 20 minute drive to Woods Hole, home of the scientific community (Oceanographic Institute, Academy of Sciences, aquarium) Woods Hole live theater, and the ferry to Martha's Vineyard & Nantucket. The College Light Opera performs Broadway musicals and Gilbert & Sullivan operettas weekly. Browse the many fine clothing boutiques and antique shops in Falmouth Village, take a short drive to Mashpee Commons - great galleries, shops and restaurants, bike the Shining Sea Bikeway (no cars) to Woods Hole for lunch, sight seeing and maybe a swim at Stony Beach.
Local Activities: Surfing, sailing, deep sea fishing, recreation and sports facilities, the Cape Cod baseball league, fine dining, smart boutiques and galleries, whale watching, the most beautiful marina on the Cape, the Knob at Woods Hole, the Mashpee Indian Pow Wow, a brand new library, Katherine Lee Bates Museum (author of America the Beautiful), the Shining Sea Bike Path from Falmouth to Woods Hole, live theater - much to see and do.
