Resturants: Going on vacation is all about eating what you want, when you want it. If you like a little upscale dining, the Cottage is within walking distance of Chipper's restaurant. Chippers is a locally owned restaurant with the owner himself cooking your meal every evening. If you are looking for something a little less upscale, 7 miles away in the town of Ellsworth is the best fried seafood, burgers and ice cream around. Jordan's Snack Bar is also locally owned for over 25 years. One highlight of the week is their Cruise-In car shows on Wednesday nights. Jimmy Jordan entertains with live music and on average of 25 antique automobiles. Come check it out, you wont regret it! If Maine Lobster is what you are looking for, Lobster Pot Restaurant in Ellsworth is where you want to head. This restaurant is overlooking the Union River with outdoor seating available. The Lobster Pot has a large menu for everyone, including the children. Don't miss out on their homemade Blueberry Pie!
Somethings you don't want to miss out on: Biking or walking the Carriage trails in Bar Harbor. Tidal falls-Down east Maine's very own reversing falls with nearby Frenchman's Bay, outdoor barbecue and live music. Seacoast Fun Park where the children can splash down the slides into the pool, play mini-golf, or speed off on the go-cart track. If antiquing is a hobby of yours, you will have many around town or just 7 miles away in the town of Ellsworth. The Cottage is being painted and updated as of 2/1/2008. Newer pictures and information will be coming soon.
Directions: Directions: From Bangor International Airport Start out going NORTH on GODFREY BLVD. 0.2 miles Go STRAIGHT toward EXIT TO CITY 0.1 miles Stay STRAIGHT to go onto GODFREY BLVD. 0.2 miles Turn RIGHT onto MAINE AVE. 1.5 miles MAINE AVE becomes ODLIN RD / US-2 / ME-100. 0.8 miles Turn LEFT onto I-395 E. 4.7 miles Merge onto US-1A E via EXIT 6A toward COASTAL ROUTE / US-1 / ELLSWORTH / BAR HARBOR. 23.1 miles *US-1A E becomes HIGH ST / US-1 / ME-3. 1.0 miles Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto DOWNEAST HWY / US-1. Continue to follow US-1. 9.1 miles End at Hancock, ME 04640-3428, US Total Est. Time: 1 hour, 2 minutes Directions from the Interstate coming from north or south. On Interstate 95, take exit 182A, you will now be on Interstate 395. Bear right at the end of 395 toward Ellsworth, exit 6A. This puts you on Coast Route/US-1. At this point follow point where the * is above. Cozy Cottage is the next driveway on the left after Merchants Auto.
