Every single day of your vacation you can choose a spot to explore, wonderful beaches, tropical forests, florescent bays, castles, fortresses, casinos, ferries to Santo Domingo, horseback riding, typical/tropical festivals, salsa concerts, fine dining, typical kiosks and plenty of sunshine and warm people.
Where to go: Lucky you! Smack in the middle of some of the best spots on the Island for swimming, surfing, sunbathing, snorkeling, jet skiing, diving and fishing. The famous beaches of Jobos, Shacks, and Sardinera in Isabela, Crashboat in Aguadilla, and the beaches of Rincon are all within a 5-15 min ride. Jobos is world famous for surfing, Shacks known for underwater caves, snorkeling or scuba diving, Playa Sardina is great for boogie boarding, while Crashboat in Aguadilla is perfect for swimming and Rincon a surfing mecca. Just choose the cost is full of cozy beach spots just waiting for you to set up gear. Non-water activities include: Sightseers: Something different to do every day of the week! 5 min to Punta Borinquen golf course with spectacular ocean views. Or Ponce for all its museums, historic plaza, castle, boardwalk ,casinos and much more. How about horseback riding trail rides, underground Rio Camuy Cave Park, or the Arecibo Observatory, San Juan fortress and much more!
What to eat - where to shop: Try: Mofongo or tostones made from Plantains - Fish, Asopao (chicken/fish stew) Sarcocho (typical stew) pasteles (like Ruerto rican tamales, typical Christmas cuisine) pernil, flan, dulce de coco(typical deserts) fruit limber (typical icee) dare to try! Chili's, Longhorns.... Shopping malls everywhere!, outlet malls and major chains , i.e WalMart, Kmart, Walgreens and all the local stores and kiosks, bakeries, road fruit and vegetable stands. There are wonderful booklets for you in the Chalet that suggest what to eat, where to go and what to see. Check them out!
