Festivals and Fetes: The midi-Pyrenees is well known for its music festivals, all within half an hours drive: The Festival of country music is held in Mirande in July. The streets of Vic Fezensac are alive with the sounds of salsa during the Tempo Latino at the end of July. Marciac hosts an Internationally renowned Jazz Festival during first two weeks of August.Numerous festival of classic music ( Trie sur Baise) The Medieval Fete at Montreal du Gers offers an evening of great entertainment for all the family.
Round and About.: There is plenty to see and do locally. Auch, a lovely old city and the capital of Gascony, is a mere twenty minutes away, and is reputedly the splendid cathedral and old town. All around are beautiful Bastides including Masseube, Bassous, Larresengle. and Fources. Nearby at St Blancard and Bezues are activity lakes. The Pyrenees, 50 miles away, offer all outdoor pursuits, such as paragliding, rafting canoing. fishing , walking the Atlantic Coast ( BIARRITZ) is about 2 h Thermal baths at Lectoure and Castera Verduzan. Village fetes, brocante markets, ' vide grenier' can be found most weekends.
Golf: Golf: Play some of the finest GOLF COURSES in South West France. Near Auch the capital town of Gers, discover 18 holes at Golf d'Auch - Embats, afterwards relax and dine in their excellent restaurant. The wooded course at Fleurance and the 18 hole course at Golf de Gascogne, Masseube provide two more great days of golf. Golf du Chateau de Pallanne offers a fabulous site of 18 holes and rolling fairways.. Not to be missed is the Pau-Billere course on the banks of the River Gave, built by the British Army in 1856 it is the oldest club in continental Europe. At 5,314 yards it is great fun to play. Lourdes Golf Club is probably one of the toughest courses in South West France, built on the side of a mountain adjacent to Lourdes Lake, almost entirely tree lined it will test your ability and stamina! There are 60 Golf courses in the SW, greens and fairways are permanently green, most courses have electric buggies and are playable 52 weeks a year because of the excellent temperatures and weather conditions. Golf in South West France is quite relaxed with courses being extremely quiet throughout the year. Most courses have restaurants and some have green concessions
