Year-Round Recreation: Record-breaking annual snowfall (exceeding Stowe by an average of 100 inches annually) and the East’s only aerial tramway are unparalleled by any nearby area. Ride snowmobiles to your heart’s content on adjacent VAST trails. A drive of 20-30 minutes to the east leads to Newport and Lake Memphremagog for ice skating and ice fishing;or, in summer, boating, water skiing, fishing and swimming. Right across the Canadian border (3 miles away) one finds similar activities at Owl’s Head, as well.
Beauty And Enjoyment All Around!: Streams and rivers lace the surrounding countryside for fishing, boating and swimming. Scenic roadways offer bike and motorcycle jaunts. Some half-dozen golf courses, within a 6 to 30-minute drive serve varying abilities, not the least of which is the recently developed championship course at Jay Peak designed by Canadian Graham Cooke, enjoyable according to varying levels of skill.
