Location: Located at the base of the mountains, this quiet country home is within walking distance of both the Icicle River and the Icicle Ridge Trail-head. Summer hikers and backpackers headed for the Cascade Wilderness Area can reach several trail-heads within a ten mile distance. Rafting enthusiasts will find Osprey Rafting Co. on Icicle Road, about a mile from the house. For those seeking the shops and restaurants of Leavenworth, the town is minutes away by car, or, if you're traveling with bikes, it is an easy one and a half mile ride--and you don't have to worry about parking.

The Home: Situated on a five-acre lot, the home is surrounded by lawns and wooded areas. I have fond memories of summer gatherings where we would barbecue, play croquet, and, as twilight deepened, visit quietly and watch for deer making their way to the river. As summer gave way to winter, we would move indoors, and the fireplace would become the central focus. On snowy evening, we would gather with family and friends, make popcorn over a cracking fire, perhaps play a board game. An old-fashioned wire popcorn popper sits next to the fireplace, always ready to be used.
