The new cottage at Central House is situated across the street from the harbor.
Amenities include all modern stainless steel high end kitchen appliances: convection gas range, dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator. The cottage is 2 stories with outdoor decks on both floors. There are built in speakers for sound on both floors. A LED TV with cable and Wi-fi internet are included. The bathroom upstairs has a custom glass and rain forest sandstone shower with front loading washer and dryer.
The cottage is one block from restaurants and shops. Acadia National Park is 2 miles away. Hiking, kayaking, swimming, biking, golfing, fishing, whale watching and more are all available on the island.

The house is located 2 miles from Acadia National Park, fresh water swimming, kayaking and hiking. Southwest Harbor is also known as the 'Quiet Side'. Southwest Harbor is a quaint town with unique little shops, restaurants and gourmet coffee and 'cold stone ice cream within a block or two. The town docks are 5 minute walk from the house where you can catch the mail boat for a ride out to the Cranberry Isles or a 5 mile drive to Bass Harbor where a state ferry will take you to Swans Island. A one block walk to the free Island Explorer Bus will connect you to Bar Harbor and all parts of beautiful Acadia National Park.
