Cape Cod: If you've never been to Cape Cod before, you may not realize just how special it is. The Cape was formed by the retreat of the glaciers, and has been settled for thousands of years, first by Native Americans, then the Pilgrims, Quakers, Portuguese and other Americans. That makes it rich in history, geology, folklore and food. Because the National Seashore was established, it remains a place of dunes, beaches and natural vistas, rather than rows of ticky-tacky cottages interrupted by clam stands and souvenir shops. The traffic on Route 6 may be like anywhere, but once you park, you will go back 50 years or more. Its incredible 'Cape light' has made it a draw for artists, so galleries abound, as well as top quality local theater, musical venues, and even poetry readings.

Eastham: Our cottage is located where the National Seashore begins. It's far enough out on the Cape to be true vacationland, yet under an hour from the bridge over the Cape Cod Canal. Eastham is less well known than Wellfleet or Provincetown, but also a lot less crowded. Enjoy the water and the sunset just steps from the door, yet a few minutes gets you to vacation joys like beaches, dunes, the Seashore Visitors Center, the Audobon Center, museums, and great restaurants, and to necessities like supermarkets, doctors and pharmacies. You can even take back roads to Orleans, bay beaches, and Wellfleet, avoiding the congestion on Route 6. We're only a mile from the bay beach, with an even wider sunset view.

Guest Book: It is a beautiful, private spot ... and the house is very comfortable.... loved the views, and enjoyed use of the pond every day....The changes that you made to the house were very nice.
