Our Neighborhood: The Canyon Road neighborhood of Santa Fe is the most historic and desirable neighborhood in the town. Canyon Road is known as the area where the early members of the Santa Fe arts colony lived and worked, hence the proliferation of art galleries and fine restaurants in the neighborhood. The neighborhood is governed by historic design codes, which means every building in the neighborhood preserves its historic architecture and character. During the Christmas season, home and business owners line Canyon Road with 'farolitos' or paper bags with candles inside them, and people walk up and down the road singing carols.
Santa Fe: Santa Fe, in general, is a haven for arts enthusiasts, and is the home to world-class opera, performing arts and visual arts. It is the 2nd largest art market in the country, with more than 200 fine art galleries. It also features some of the oldest buildings in the United States, and many visitors feel Santa Fe is one of the most interesting and pleasurable cities they have ever visited in the United States.
