The Island: North Captiva Island is accessible only by boat. Leave your cars on the mainland. Bicycles and electric golf carts (a private golf cart is included with your rental) are our means of transportation. Board the convenient water taxi on the mainland (Pine Island) for a 25-minute boat ride across the bay. Pass the mangroves thick with resting flocks of Ibis and Egrets; Cormorants and Brown Pelicans line the pilings, offering great photo opportunities as you leave the harbor. You are leaving the world you knew behind, and entering the unique blend of peace and serenity that is North Captiva. At the dock at Barnacle Phil’s, your destination on the Island, our private caretaker will greet you and transport you to The Blue Parrot. Your adventure in paradise has begun.
This tropical island getaway features miles of sandy paths, traveled by golf cart. Our unspoiled beaches are treasured for shelling, unparalleled fishing, and spectacular sunrises and sunsets over the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. All guests of the Blue Parrot have their own private golf cart. The Blue Parrot is equipped with bicycles, beach chairs, and beach umbrellas exclusively for our guests use. All guests are also entitled to unlimited use of the North Captiva Island Club’s facilities. Best of all, our private property manager greets and transports guests to/from from the dock, and familiarizes them with the property. Our caretaker has an intimate knowledge of North Captiva Island and of the attractions and features of nearby islands and the mainland--and is dive savvy as well!
Activities and Nearby Attractions: On island: hiking, swimming, kayaking, boating, bicycling, tennis, snorkeling, shelling, birding, fishing. Off island and nearby day trips: Cayo Costa, Cabbage Key, Golf (Alden Pines), Museums, Art Galleries (Matlacha).
