Information about this cottage rental in Acadia National Park
We live in a charming 19th century farm house on the coast of Maine. We have a view of the water from the front of the house where there is access to a rocky beach, sea caves and kayaking. Our back yard is rich with apple trees, blueberry bushes, and blackberry brambles. In the house there are three bedrooms, including a fully renovated master bedroom, a full bathroom upstairs with a great claw-foot tub, a fully renovated downstairs bathroom which includes a very large, mosaic tiled shower with two shower heads and a door leading to a fieldstone and cedar outdoor shower, a beautifully renovated kitchen including a built in breakfast booth, and cozy sitting area, all stainless steel appliances and three full walls of windows looking out to the water, side yard and back yard and patio, dining room, two living rooms-one facing the water side of the house, and one facing the backyard, and a gorgeous fieldstone patio with outdoor grilling dining and a cozy bistro nook.

Bar Harbor Maine is located on Mount Desert Island which is the home to Acadia National Park. This is one of the most beautiful and popular spots in the whole country. People visit Bar Harbor from all over the world and though the village can be quite crowded in the month of August, our house is located 5 miles down the road and feels quite serene even in the busiest months. For further information on the Park, the Internet has lots of information. Activities in and around the park include hiking, biking, swimming, sailing and kayaking, **Whale Watching** (lots of whales in the summer) , rock climbing, canoeing, bird watching and lots more!

- The yurt is at the back of the property and is very private and comfortable. It is weather-proof yet feels more integrated with the outdoors (it is covered in canvas) It has a small wood stove for the chillier weather but wood is not provided and would have to be purchased. It's great for kids or couples who want to a little quiet refuge away from the rest of the family.
