Called 'Moon Loon Cottage' and managed by On the Water in Maine - Vacation Property Rentals - This beautiful property is located on Crawford Lake in Union near Camden/Rockland and the Mid-Coast. Crawford Lake is the only lake in the Camden/Rockland area with no public water access. As a result, the lake is enjoyed mostly by those who live on it, about 100 cottages or so. It is a special lake, about 3 miles long and a mile wide at it's widest point. There are several coves to find a calm spot for water skiing, and a large island in the middle of the lake owned by the Georges River Trust that you can explore.
The cottage is located 30 feet from the water's edge. There is a woodfired sauna outside in addition to a large deck supporting spectacular views of the lake. Swim off the large dock with over 6 feet of water leading up to a shallow beach area. Inside the cottage is decorated in the feel of LL Bean

The property is 12 miles west of Camden and Rockland, home of the World famous Lobster Festival. Each year in Union, there is the Maine Antiques Show and the Union Fair - both in August. Nearby is Union village, host of the oldest Common in the state. There is a great Maine winery just up the road where you can tour and sip the local wine. Across from the private road to the property is an equestrian center. A public tennis court is less than 2 miles away.

There is a large grocery store and restaurant that serves a great breakfast (Hannibals). While in a rural location, the property is less than 5 minutes to several stores offering pizza, movie rentals, and other necessities.
