Traveling to 5th Avenue, downtown Playa is a must (just a 7 minute walk from Casa Buena Suerte). This is the place where visitors gather in typical Mexican atmosphere. Be entertained by various musical groups, extravagant characters, painters all rich with Mexican folklore. Enjoy a variety of Mexican and International menus to satisfy any palate. Find Mayan history while traveling to Tulum or Chitchen Itza. Explore under water attractions at Xel-Ha and Xcaret. Travel to Isla Mujeres and Cozumel on a short ferry ride to encounter more beautiful beaches, coral reefs and shopping. Taxis are abundant in Playa del Carmen. The flat standard rate is $5.00 to travel between downtown Playa del Carmen and Playacar (gated hotel zone).
5th Avenue Information-: 5th Ave has lots to offer- Filled with shopping, bars, open air restaurants (casual and fine dining), night clubs, beach access (mamitas beach is the popular public beach), spa services, excursion sign up, cafes, internet cafes, rental car company, water sports, parasailing, ferry to Cozumel, drug stores, convenient stores etc.
