Thing to do in the area: Rent a power/pontoon boat, launch your boat, or get gas at Newfound Marina, ½ mi around the corner. Motorboats and jet skis are allowed on Newfound. Visit Wellington State Park (with a beach and picnic area, public boat launch, and trails for hiking) or Sculptured Rocks, a natural geologic formation and true swimmin’ hole! Other places of interest include tax-free Tanger Outlets, Polar Caves, NH International Speedway, Lost River, Flume Gorge, Clarks Trading Post, M/S Mount Washington, Funspot, and numerous golf courses.
Places to eat: Good restaurants (in approximate increasing cost): Village Pizza, The Big Catch, Kathleen's Cottage Irish Pub, The Common Man (in Ashland), The Italian Farmhouse (in Plymouth), Homestead Restaurant, and Pasquaney Restaurant.
