For local shopping and dining, travel just 13 miles into Pahoa, which boasts numerous ethnic restaurants, a large health food store, weekly Farmers' Market and a supermarket and small shopping center. Just north of Hilo, you enter mystical rainforests to view magical waterfalls. Neighboring Kalani Oceanside Resort offers buffet-style meals, olympic size pool, yoga classes and complete spa facilities.
