Numerous activities within a 45 minute drive including: Shrine in the Pines - tree furniture museum Manistee State Forest 92 mile nature trail (walking, biking, etc) Michigan Adventure Amusement Park (with many water slides) Scenic drives Meijer Gardens and Statuary exhibits (nationally recognized) Lake Michigan beaches
The area is definitely casual . . . local area restaurants offer a country and western feel/music . . . jeans are the most appropriate. Bring comfortable shoes and a sweater/light jacket in summer. Also be prepared for water sports.
Many conveniences within 5 miles including grocery store, pharmacy, and discount stores. All the basics are available.
Golf: Two excellent golf courses (one is national renown) are within 30 minutes drive,.
Other Activities: river tubing, boating, nature trails
