Imperial Beach Sand and Sea Retreat is a 3-level condo located 1/2 block from the sand in beautiful Imperial Beach, California, the most southwesterly city in the continental United States. The beaches are wide and sandy, and Imperial Beach is a laid-back little town, with less traffic and fewer beach crowds than many other beaches in San Diego. Within a 5-minute walk, you'll find at least 8 casual dining restaurants, two coffeehouses, two neighborhood taverns, a convenience store, a small grocery store, two public parks on the beach, an ice cream parlor, as well as the main lifeguard station, the sheriff's substation, and the Imperial Beach Pier. The lower level of the condo is an attached 2-car garage with full-sized washer and dryer. The middle level has a living room, dining room, kitchen and a 1/2 bath. The upper level consists of a full bathroom located between two bedrooms.

Imperial Beach is a small town of about 25,000 people, and is the most southwesterly city in the continental United States. The populated beachfront is about 1.5 miles long, bordered on the north by a US Navy Radio Station, and on the south by the Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge, Tijuana River National Estuarine Sanctuary, and Border Field State Park. The river estuary is a birdwatchers' paradise, and pelicans, storks and many other interesting birds are daily visitors to the local beaches. The beach can be walked all the way to the US/Mexico border, about 3 miles south of the center of town. Imperial Beach has terrific wide beaches with fine gray-white sand. All beaches have public access. Imperial Beach hosts the US Open Sandcastle Championships each year in July. The San Diego area is a great place to visit at any time of the year, with activities to suit just about anyone's tastes.
