The house, outdoors:: 3/4 acre with a lovely peninsula and grassy fields. Outside the entrance there is a small wood deck with porch swing and terraced area for outdoor dining. The property has a shallow sand-bottom swimmer's entrance on a pretty cove shared by only one other house. The house faces West and gets great sunset views. The property has lots of trees in front and back and remains cool even when the weather is hot, central air conditioning system makes sure the house is cool in extreme weather. A beautiful rock garden leads to the peninsula, with open views of the water.

The lake:: Located minutes off the Taconic Parkway, Roaring Brook Lake is approx. 4 miles in circumference, with houses along its shores which belong to a private association. The lake has a few shared sand beaches for the residents, one very nearby for children and provides a lifeguard. It is very clean: no motor boats are allowed, with the exception of electric 'egg beaters' for those fishing. Residents can use canoes, sailboats, windsurfers, kayaks and such. Fishing is excellent.

Guest Book: When we first toyed with the idea of renting a lake house I immediately envisioned a dark and musty place for some reason. Much to our delight, your house represents the antithesis of my gloomy forecast; whether it was sunny, windy or raining bullets we couldn’t have asked for a more serene place to relax with friends. The modifications you made to the house also served us extremely well: the kitchen upgrades, bathroom renovations, installation of central-air, appliances and wireless router among other things made our days hassle free. I personally enjoyed the little TV in what I coined “the porch room” overlooking the lake; Susie was overjoyed with the ability to read a book in front of the fireplace on cool nights.
