Siesta Beach is famous for its crescent shape of almost 3 miles and its 'sugar-fine' sand. The sand is 99% pure quartz and is cool to the touch even in the hottest sun. The beach was rated 'Best Sand Beach in America', 2003, by the Travel Channel due to its clean, powder-soft to the touch, free of shell particles and cool on the feet sand.
You can also enjoy Myakka River State Park and take an airboat ride to go alligator-watching! Walk to the quant Siesta Village with shops and informal dining, or drive 1/4 mile for 5 star dining at the Summer House.
You will find nearly 1,000 species of saltwater fish including barracuda, black drum, grouper, pompano, snapper and tarpon, with year-round on-shore and off-shore fishing.
