Ski: Heavenly Resort in Stateline, Nevada, is Lake Tahoe's largest ski resort, with 91 runs on nine mountain peaks and a 3,500-foot vertical drop. Some of the major local ski areas in South Lake Tahoe include: Heavenly Mountain Resort the largest Ski area in California and Nevada, are just minutes away Kirkwood Ski Resort a south shore ski area which gets more snow than any other ski area in Tahoe is about 45 minutes away Sierra-at-Tahoe a small south shore ski area is about 35 minutes away. Throughout Tahoe, Cross Country Skiing , Snowmobile, riding, and Snowshoeing, are also popular, thus there are many trails for them. Heavenly tickets are $70 with 30 Lifts, 91 Trails. Kirkwood tickets are $62 with 12 Lifts, 65 Trails. Sierra tickets are $59 12 Lifts, 46 Trails.
