Perfect for Big Family Gatherings: This is a great property for multi-generational families. All of the amenities are on the 1st floor for older relatives. The house is also designed to entertain kids of all ages with a swimming pool, pool table, basketball court, horsehsoes, ping pong, fuseball, bocce ball and plenty of games! Plenty of dining space including a kitchen table that seats 9, a dining room table for 10 and 3 picnic tables that seat 16 out by the pool. All of this makes having nice dinners and lobster feasts a breeze. If it is raining out, no worries, have movie day on the patio where there is seating for 10 and a 50' flat screen tv with vcr/dvd. Want 2 movies playing, there is also a den with a tv/vcr/dvd that seats 5 more and the crowd can also be watching the game while playing pool downstairs. With 5 TVs in total and 4,000 square feet, there is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy yourselves. On sunny days a crowd gathers to go to the beach, the park that overlooks the ocean or for ice cream. Weekend Weddings, Parties and Theatre: We rent the Harwich Haven from Wednesday to Wednesday for several reasons. It helps renters avoid Cape traffic. It also helps our maid, landscaper and pool guy service the house on days they are not busy with other houses, which means they are not rushed and the house is better maintained. Most people are used to having fun on the weekends. This allows everyone to arrive, get settled in and food shop before the weekend. Then on the weekend you can go to the Harwich Junior Theatre, have a party, attend a wedding, drive to Provincetown and still have early the next week to rest and relax. It also means that on the weekend, while other people are busy driving on and off Cape, you are enjoying the beaches and attractions while they are not as busy. For parents, the kids only miss one weekend of athletics. If you would like to have a party at the house, we do allow them; but they require (1) owner approval, (2) a liquor liability policy if alcohol is served and (3) cleaning fee. Great Activities While on Vacation: Go on a seal cruise around Monomoy Island. Order cooked lobsters from George's Fish Market and have a pool party/lobster feast. Rent Kayaks and enjoy the Bass River and follow it up with dinner at Swan River. Take the kids to the Weatherdeck for Putt Putt while you have fried seafood, milkshakes and ice cream. Drive to Chatham and see the lighthouse, walk main street and shop, eat lunch at the Squire and dinner at the Impudent Oyster. Walk to the end of Division St and head straight on Belmost St to the Earl Road Beach. Walk to the end of Division St and go west to the park and then to the Sundae School, great for the kids (a mile each way). Drive to Harwichport and go to Saquatucket Beach, buy toys at Dr. Gravity's and eat at the Hot Stove Saloon. Go out for a nice dinner at Brax, Cape Sea Grille, Oyster Company or the Port. Go to the JFK Museum in Hyannis and eat out at the Roadside Grill. Go on a lighthouse tour out to Provincetown and eat lunch at the famous Lobster Pot.
