Further details about this house rental
Local attractions: This property is wonderful for hiking, biking, and exploring ancient villages and ruins. The local food is terrific, as well as very reasonably priced. Vineyards abound! Faugeres AOC is !0 kilometers and St. Chinian AOC is 30 kilometers away. The owner is very willing to talk with you and help plan your trip. I have owned the house for 9 years. I am very familiar with the area, and can help you get the most out of your visit. Local markets include Bedarieux on Mondays and Saturdays, and Lamalou-les-Bains on Tuesdays. Boussagues, with its bailiff's house where Toulouse Lautrec once lived, is a village gem. It is a 1 1/2 hour scenic walk on the GR7 from Villemagne. The walk is longer if you stop to pick cherries in June, or berries in late August. St. Guilhem le Desert, (The cloisters located in New York City came from there. The other half are still in St. Guilhem) is a 45 minute drive. Wine tasting in Herepian (2 miles). L'Auberge de l'Abbaye restaurant is 100 meters.
